A truly exceptional Sauvignon, made in only the very best vintages (the preceding vintage was an unlikely ’02, which Paolo admits he still can’t quite figure out how the magic happened). Less than fourteen-hundred bottles are produced and before ageing, the wine is tasted by the cooper to decide the appropriate type and toast of oak for the maturation barrels. In a region renowned for its Sauvignon, the Sior Meni has an unrivalled pungency, intensity and purity with notes of wet loam, ginger and grapefruit showing prominently. Even when tried barely 48-hours after being bottled, the ’06 already already showed a unity yet complexity that was truly remarkable.
